BackGround Assisted Reproductive Technology is a sub-specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology and an important area of clinical medicine.  Falling fertility rate is a global concern. Infertility rate is on the rise globally due to several causes, some being environmental toxins, changing working habits and lifestyle. The number of couples seeking fertility treatment is on the rise globally and the demand for practitioners in this area is also on the rise. There is an acute shortage of trained Embryologists and Clinicians to meet the demand. Unfortunately the number of teaching university hospitals and private IVF centres that offer a structured Training course in such a dynamic area of medicine is very minimal or lacking. Moreover, most of the centres that offer training are mainly observational and trainees do not get enough hands-on practical training, and unable to practice clinical embryology on return to their home countries. Hence there is an acute need of a training program in Embryology to impart trainees with the practical knowledge necessary to practice this exciting field of Clinical Embryology.
